Our other company, SecureaKat, installs custom cat enclosures for people in their back yards. Thanks to Tammy and Jayson for putting these photos online of their garden renovations and cat enclosure being built by SecureaKat.

Cats are sneaky masters of escapism so don't risk the safety of your loved one... Make sure that your cat enclosure is installed by experienced netting experts.

Around Australia, there are laws being brought into place to stop cats from roaming free outside of the owners property due to the damage they can cause. You can read more about this here.

At both Advanced Nets & Ropes and SecureaKat we truly believe that quality is not expensive, its priceless. We install the highest quality, long lasting, finished products and this means that we use only the highest quality UV stabilized cat enclosure netting and fittings available and we do not cut corners.

At Advanced Nets & Ropes we are proud of the fact that no netting job is to big or too difficult... In fact, we have often been called in to complete jobs across Australia that others couldn't finish!

If you have concerns about how something will work, how something will be accessed or how something could possibly be installed in a location, calm yourself down and let us worry about that for you... Our proven track record in installing complex netting structures speaks for itself!

The Advanced Nets team bring together over 60 years experiance in a range of netting and pest control fields including aquaculture, sports, industrial, safety and fishing industries in Australia and overseas so you can trust us to not only get the job done, but get the job done to a high standard.

Some of our larger and most challenging jobs include:
  • Installing huge safety nets covering the entire roof area of the Adelaide Aquatic Centre. This incorporated working around some complex structures along with tricky logistical issues (you can't drive high access equipment on water!).
  • Designing and installing some of the biggest netted birdproofing jobs in Australia. From protecting ETSA electricity substations from birds, through to covering the loading docks at all of the new Coles Myer state distribution centres throughout Australia so that bird droppings don't present a danger to employees or equipment. We got the jobs installed on time and on budget.
  • Creating custom training and practice facilities for professional sporting teams including Port Power and Greater Western Sydney in the AFL as well as creating multi-purpose netted sporting facilities at the Australian Institute of Sport.

Don't just take our word for it though, visit the challenge us page of our website to see some of our bigger and more complicated netting jobs... all  finished to our high standards.

Now is the perfect time to look at the state of your soccer goal nets (or football... But that argument is a whole different post!!). Not only do tatty goal nets look bad, but its annoying to have to run after the ball when it goes through hole. It can lead to arguments as players and officials cannot tell whether the ball went into the goal or missed. It  can even be dangerous for player safety depending on the way the net dangles.

Goal nets are relatively cheap to repair or replace, and Advanced Nets and Ropes offer a range of different sizes and net quality so you will be able to find the perfect soccer goal net.

We have a range of other soccer related products as well including;
- Soccer Goals & Posts
- Box Nets
- Angle Back Nets
- Custom Made Nets
- Practice Nets
- Backstop Nets
- Backstop Posts & Sleeves
- Post Padding
- Spectator Safety Netting
- Installation
- Pitch Seperation
- Repair Service

Our soccer goal nets are made to order in a vaiety of colours. Goal nets are made from quality polyethylene netting and our easy to install soccer nets are UV stabilized making them ideal for outside in the Australian climate  (Read about the importance of UV protection here).

Pro Soccer Net -3.0mm White Braided Netting

Surround Netting to Stop Sports Balls

26/6/2012

When you are playing sport nobody wants to be the person who has to run 200 meters to get the ball when it goes out of play, and you definitely don't want to be the spectator who gets hit in the face by a stray ball! Advanced Nets and Ropes can develop a surround netting solution to stop this from happening.

Protect spectators, property and more by installing surround netting to catch stray balls. Advanced Nets will work with you to develop a custom solution to your ball stopping needs including all posts, pillars, netting and padding. Whatever sport you are playing we can create a fixed or retractable way to stop balls and keep you safe.

With the cricket season fast approaching here in Australia, now is a great time to contact us about surround and safety netting as well as your cricket net needs.

Environmental Nets Protecting Plants

20/3/2012

This environmental netting was installed a number of years ago to protect native plants in the Adelaide's River Torrens from swans and other wildlife damaging them whilst they grew. They needed to protect the plants from the top, side and under the water. The nets needed to allow room for growth. Each net unit also had to remain tethered to the same spot whilst moving up and down with the tide.

We manufactured the netting in our factory and assembled the units on-site on the banks of the river before getting out on a boat and installing them in their final places.

The first row of photos shows the nets straight after installation. The second row of photos shows recently performed maintenance on the nets where we went back to ensure that the nets were still performing as designed and refurbish any damage caused through wear and tear.

Bird Proof Netting Protecting Your Electricity Supply

6/3/2012

There are a lot of things you don't think about when you turn on your electricity. Power can go out for a number of reasons including storms and extreme heat during summer (as often happens here in Australia!). One thing you probably didn't know is that something as simple as a bird landing in the wrong place at the substation could take out the power for an entire suburb and things could be even worse if birds were to actually nest inside a vital component.

Advanced Nets were called in to work with the state power supplier in order to bird proof a large substation in South Australia and this presented us with a number of challenges.

The main challenge of this job was installing bird net to protect all the individual parts of the facility whilst still providing easy access for employees to maintain the equipment. The best way to do this was to manufacture one large net to cover the entire outside of the facility therefore stopping birds from getting anywhere near it whilst also having no impact on access to equipment for workers.

The trouble with installing such a large net structure in the middle of an open area, centered on making such a huge freestanding structure sturdy enough to withstand the weather and especially the strong winds which can blow across the land. This was especially important because if it collapses the outcome could disastrous.

Next... How do we install such a large net over electrical equipment without causing damage or cutting off the power supply?

Through a combination of posts and tensioned rigging the job was completed on time and everybody was pleased with the finished result which you can see in the photos below. This job was completed in 2006 and to this day not one single bird has got through!

We are currently in the process of making one of the largest single nets we have ever constructed.

The video below shows hand making nets for the new Jason Gillespie cricket practice centre being installed at the Ice Arena in Adelaide. When finished this will be one of Australias biggest and best indoor cricket practice centers and we are very excited to be involved in this project.

We will post photos and a video when its finished.
Below is a news report of the original Lehamnn and Gillespie centre we installed in Jamestown a number of years ago. See more of our cricket nets here  http://www.advancednets.com.au/cricket-nets.html

Hand Rigging a Net to a Wire

15/2/2012

At Advanced Nets and Ropes we hand rig all of our nets made in the factory. There are a number of reasons for this; it gives a better finish with more accurate spacing. The materials used are also stronger meaning that the finished net product will last longer.

In the photos below you can see the difference. The first photo shows a machine rigged net whilst the second photo shows our hand rigged net.

Fully Enclosed Sports Area

15/2/2012

This is a fully enclosed netted sports area installed in a customers back yard and custom built to their requirements.

Similar to an installation we completed at a mine site in the Australian Outback, the structure is permanent and designed to withstand all weather including the harsh UV of the sun. Find out why this is important here.

The sports netting features a heavy duty double zipped entrance the same as we install in our professional indoor cricket nets and is also tensioned perfectly to stop balls but not have them fling back at full speed.

This is just one example of the range of fixed and retractable sports netting options we can construct in your garden. Whether its a simple net to stop the football or cricket ball from going over the fence, a baffle net to protect the windows on your house from being smashed by a ball, or a custom multi-sports setup for cricket, golf or tennis, we can create something just right for your needs.

We don't just do the nets either. We handle everything from the construction of the playing area, concreting, laying artificial turf and professional installation of posts, goals and fencing.

Contact us for more information or to arrange a quote on a custom sports area at your house, otherwise take a look at other areas of the website to get an idea of what we can do in your yard or confined space.
